    Note: I've decided to start posting the Anaheim AAR's in the O.C. Game Day Forum. From now each thread will specify 'Brea' or 'Anaheim'.

    Greetings ASL Fans;

    I’m pleased to report we have 6 members stay and play at our Anaheim Game Day at the St. Crispin’s Hobby Day. We also had 3 members who made cameo appearances: Chris Castallana, Scott Thompson and Chris Collett (who came to play but is still recovering from Bronchitis and just didn’t feel up to a game.)

    Stephan Tourville and Bill Yuen christened one of the new Winter Offensive Pack scenarios, “Failure to Communicate” with Stephan’s French defeating Bill’s Germans. It looks like a very interesting early war scenario, and both thought it was well worth the effort.

    Blair Bellamy’s Germans fell to Dan Plachta’s Slovacs in “Retrained and Rearmed”. I played that one with Geoff Coward some months back. Dan and I both feel it’s a little hard on the Germans.

    And Eric Visnowski and I paired up for one of the few Schwerepunkt scenarios I haven’t played: “To No Avail”, with my Germans scratching out a win against Eric’s very tough Germans. You know, there are just certain people whose rhythm and style of play so perfectly matches your own that every game is a pleasure. EV and I definitely have that type of relationship; our games are invariably hard-fought and close, and also among of the most enjoyable I’ve played. Thanks Eric, for yet another great game.

    As usual, we took advantage of the great meal deal they offer at St. Crispin’s. For lunch we enjoyed bratwurst and sauerkraut with a small salad, and we had cheeseburgers for dinner.

    As always, it was great day of ASL.

    Regards,

    Jim
