All,
We had 6 members, plus a cameo appearance from Casta for our July Game Day at The Realm in Brea:
Drew Simon’s Japanese fell to Eric Visnowski’s American paratroopers in the Schwerepunkt scenario “A Promise Fulfilledâ€.
Fen Yan’s Brits held off Stephan Tourville’s Germans in the Schwerepunkt scenario “Green Jacket Bridgeâ€.
And my Germans defeated Blair Bellamy’s Polish Partisans in the Dispatches Deluxe scenario “Special Deliveryâ€. We both thought this one was kind of pro-German, so with a couple hours left we flipped it around and I took the Partisans against Blair’s Germans. Although we didn’t have time to complete this second playing, it was pretty clear that the Poles were not going to fare any better than they did the first time. That’s not to say it wasn’t a fun scenario; it certainly was, and Blair and I enjoyed our game(s). But you’ll definitely want to give the Poles the balance in this one.
And we adjourned for our usual lunch over at Millies, with Casta joining us. It was a pleasure as always.
It was a terrific (and very relaxing) day of ASL. And The Realm’s AC was able to keep up with the heat; certainly a big improvement over the old location.
