    Holiday Greetings ASL Fans;

    We had four members in attendance for the December edition of The Red Barricades Project. Jim Cotugno and I had command of the Russians against Dan Plachta and Henry DeVries as the Germans.

    We started the 10/29 CG date and completed one full turn (the first turn of a CG date is always the longest.) The Germans hit the Russian line at three points: the Bread Factory, the central factory district, and the Kindergarten. The Russians were able to slow up the Bread Factory assault with a well-placed 70mm OBA. Things looked good for the Russians also in front of the Kindergarten, until the field phone for the OBA we were relying on broke. The Russians are going to have to fight a lot harder that we expected in that sector. In the factory district German Pioneers and Sturm squads hit hard, but there are a lot of Russian bodies in the way. In the bottom half of the turn Jim was able to push a small counter-attack forward in the factories that cost the Germans an 8-3-8 and 5-4-8 in CC at the cost of a couple of conscript squads. The dirt cup shows about equal in casualties. We’re looking at yet another bloody day in the Barricades.

    We enjoyed our usual ‘gamer’s lunch’ courtesy of the St. Crispin people. It was great to have Henry rejoin us after a 2 year hiatus. He picked right up where he left off, except the last time he played at the Red Barricades Project he was on the Russian side. He promised to be back to give Dan a hand again next month.

    The carnage will resume next month on turn 2 of the 10/29 CG date.
