We had four members at the St. Crispin’s Game Day for the launch of our new CG “Shield of Cholmâ€. Dave Kocot and Jim Cotugno assumed command of the attacking Soviets against me and Scott Thompson commanding the Germans. Dan Plachta stopped by late in the afternoon to check out the game
We actually got off to a slow start, primarily because of the pre-game bombardments and revealing HIP fortifications. But once we got underway we made excellent progress, and by the time we decided to wrap it up we had played through the top of turn 3 of the first CG Date. Given the quick pace of play, we expect to finish the CG Date at the May meeting.
This is shaping up to be a very fun and quick playing CG, and because of the way the board is laid out, we could easily accommodate a couple more players.
Overall turnout at St. Crispin’s was pretty light. Evidently there was some kind of miniatures convention that drew off a lot of their usual attendees. No problem for us, of course, just less noise and more space. It was a great day and we felt our new CG was a good choice and that we’re off to a great start.
