June Brea O.C. Game Day AAR

Scott Thompson and I were the only attendees at the O.C. Game Day in Brea. That’s probably for the best, as they were pretty crowded this month. Since Scott’s family was away, we adjourned to his house in Fullerton.

We played “Defending the Voentorg”, one of the VotG scenarios from J8. It has an interesting game mechanic; play 3 turns, do a mini refit phase, play another 3 turns, then another refit, then the final 3 turns, with sudden death VC’s after each 3-turn set.. In the end, my Germans defeated Scott’s Russians, but it was very close. A couple of good CC dice rolls made the difference between defeat and victory. This is an excellent scenario for practicing your infantry tactics. It is quite balanced IMO and a ton of fun.
