We had 4 members in attendance for the September edition of the O.C. Game Day, not too bad considering it was the weekend after the BBQ:

Karl Von Voigt’s Australians defeated Candice Juliano’s Germans in “The Sooner the Better”.

Stephan Tourville’s Russians fell to my Germans in “Recon Blitz at Sarnowka”.

We had lunch over at Millie’s, which as it did last month, worked out very well.

On a personal note, I want to congratulate Stephan on a scenario well played. I think the Russian is the more difficult of the two sides to play in “Recon Blitz”, and Stephan played them with skill. My Germans just managed to sneak into the last victory building in the Advance phase, but it took every trick I had to pull it off. It was one of those down-to-the-last-DR games that make ASL so fun and exciting.

    Regards,

    Jim

    Thanks Jim!

Staring at that board all day had the effect of burning the map into my mind–ever since I left on Sunday I've been thinking about the defensive possibilities! Truly a great session, though, and you definitely passed your PMC to make it into the endgame (which was impressive as well). I'd definitely play that one again, and I just can't feel bad about losing when I'm having so much fun.
