We had another great Game Day in Brea, with four games played by a total of six players:
Eric Visnowski’s Russians defeated Hank W.’s Germans in “Brave Little Emchasâ€. EV as been on a Deluxe ASL scenario tear as of late. He and Hank had an excellent playing of this scenario and both recommended it highly.
My Germans defeated Blair Bellamy’s Russians in “Meat Grinderâ€. Our game was very close, and very enjoyable. This AP5 scenario came highly recommended, and with good reason. It is fast, exciting and balanced; I would say one of the best scenarios I have played in recent memory.
Larry Rohlfing showed up a little later, but his timing was excellent, coinciding with Mike Budzeika. Mike had contacted me earlier in the week, indicating that he had played ASL years ago, and was looking to get back into it. I recommended he pick up a copy of SK to help him get back into the game, and he brought it with him. He and Larry paired up for two games: “War of the Ratsâ€, with Mike’s Russians falling to Larry’s Germans, and then “No Monumental Acclaimâ€, with Larry’s Americans defeating Mike’s Germans.
We adjourned around 2:00 PM for our usual group lunch at Brea’s Best Burgers; good as always.
