April San Diego Game Day AAR.
We had another solid 6 showing for our Monthly Game Day at Artifex Comics and Games in Mira Mesa.
Rob Feinstein wanted to test a Russian defense setup for “Frontiers and Pioneersâ€. Although I’d played it before I agreed to take the Germans. My cycle riders eventually rode to victory over Rob’s Russians. I believe he’s busy reengineering a new Russian setup as we speak.
Hank W. and Dave Perham played the same scenario. Both the setup and the attack were entirely different, which really demonstrates the replayability of this scenario. On the last turn one of Hank’s half-squads survived close combat to hang onto the last victory building and deny Dave’s Germans the win.
Jeff Gollaher arrived a little later, but that turned out not to be a problem; I called Fred Timm, our on-call San Diego opponent and he drove down from Carlsbad to take on Jeff. They chose “Infiltratorsâ€, with Fred’s British defeating Jeff’s Germans.
Around 1:00 PM we adjourned to Denny’s across the street for an enjoyable lunch. That worked out quite well. We found out it was faster to walk than to drive there.
Our next San Diego Game Day will be the Sunday *after* Memorial weekend, May 31st.
