We had 4 members in attendance for the November edition of The Red Barricades Project. Jim Cotugno and I already had our Russian set up done, and we departed for a road trip to Brookhurst Hobbies while Mike Cirrincione and Dan Plachta hatched a plan and set up the Germans. We returned in time for our St. Crispin’s gamer’s lunch, and rolled the initial wind change DR for the October 24th CG around 1:00 PM.
On turn one the Germans launched a powerful, two company attack along the now-open west edge. They avoided our very strong position in the Bread Factory, opting instead to enter just to the north of it. This attack is supported by a platoon of PzIV’s, and a platoon size attack further north detailed to recapture some abandoned buildings lost in the night counter-attack.
It looks like the factory sector will be quiet this CG date. But a secondary attack appears to be brewing on the east flank, with a German assault group gathered around the ruins of the Commissar’s House. But that attack has yet to materialize.
Both sides have an ELR of 0. We played one full turn, with 4 to 5 squads lost by each side. One thing we all know for sure; this is going to be a very bloody CG date.
After playing the first turn we decided to wrap up a little early. It was another great day in the Barricades.
