Barbecue update

I just want to give everyone a short update as to how we’re coming along with the barbecue. Although I’m still waiting for a couple of checks to arrive, I estimate our attendance will be in the low 20’s. We have booked approximately 80% of our room block at Crowne Plaza, which is exactly what we want to hear. I will give them the final head count for dinner later this week, when I’m sure the last of the pre-registrations have arrived. As usual, the Club will host our Hospitality Suite on Saturday afternoon with free soda and beer.

This year’s “mondo event” is Critical Hit’s “First Wave at Omaha”. Stephan Tourville and Candice Juliano will join me defending Fortress Europa against Eric Morton, Matt Romey and Rob Feinstein’s Americans. The Germans have already met and mapped out their set-up. We are all very excited to see how it will play out.

I know that a fair number of the attendees have already lined up games with fellow members. I also know that some members like to ‘wing it’ and just pick something when they get there against whoever is available, and that’s fine too. But if you would like to arrange a game in advance (saves a lot of time on Saturday morning) and are looking for an opponent, please email me at protozoan1@verizon.net, and I’ll pair up as many members as I can. I’ll try to match up players by experience levels as much as possible.
