We had a lighter than average turnout this month for the Orange County Game Day in Brea, with three members in attendance. We promptly organized a two-on-one game of “Head of the Mace” from AP4. Eric Visnowski took the Brits (actually Polish) with Bill Yuen and I taking the Germans.

This is a short scenario (4.5 turns) played on two half-boards, but man, there's a lot going on. We managed to get two full turns in before the store closed, and jotted down the unit locations so we could resume the game at a later date. The portion of the scenario we played was great fun, and we're all looking forward to seeing how it will turn out.

We also had our usual group lunch at The Hat; the onion rings were especially good.

    Thanks for the AAR Jim.

So far the scenario is full of action.
With only 4.5 turns and random reinforements, it forces the Germans to be very aggressive but the ammo shortage for both side makes you think hard before you shoot.

Can't wait to see how this one will end!!!

Check out Game Squads Forum scenario AAR's. Our own Rich Domovic (still in Chicago evidently) and Scott Holst wrote an excellent recap of their game. Evidently their playing was a real barn-burner, with a very close finish. Others have chimed in saying they had also played this scenario and really enjoyed it.
