If you’ve looked at a calendar lately, you might have noted that March has five Saturdays. And in the SoCalASL Club, we don’t like to let an open Saturday go to waste. So we’re going to fill it with the first SoCalASL Field Trip of 2013: A visit to the USS Iowa!
The iconic symbol of American naval power is at Berth 87 of the Port of Los Angeles, 250 South Harbor Blvd, San Pedro, CA 90731. You can check out their website at:
http://www.pacificbattleship.com/page/san-pedro-tour-alpha
When: 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 30, 2013
Where: In the parking lot next to the ship
How Much: $18 (a little less if you’re a senior, student or veteran) plus parking
The Plan:
We’re going to meet in the USS Iowa parking lot at noon on March 30th. From there we’ll buy our tickets and tour the ship, then adjourn for a group dinner at a nearby restaurant. Dave Rosner, who is a volunteer with the ship, says parking is plentiful and only $1 per hour.
Like all of our Field Trips, friends and family of SoCalASL members are more than welcome.
Save the date! This is going to be a ton of fun. I hope you can join us!
