We had a total of seven members, plus a cameo from John Lehman, for the July edition of our “Shield of Cholm” CG day at St. Crispin's. Dave Kocot and Jim Cotugno had command of the Russians against me, Casta and Scott Thompson as the Germans. We started on the bottom of turn 5, and the CG date went to the maximum, through the top of turn 6. The Russians did some serious damage during that last half turn. Dave Williams and his friend Joe arrived when we were at lunch, and set up “Puma Prowls” to help learn the armor rules. Meanwhile, we finished the CG date and established the perimeters. Scott and I will meet before next month in order to do our purchases and set-up for our August meeting.
Because most of the St. Crispin's Irregulars (including Harmon) were at Comicon, we had the place pretty much to ourselves. There were only two other groups in the building. Because no one was there to serve lunch, we walked over to the Italian sandwich shop nearby, and enjoyed significantly better fare than we normally do at St. Crispin's.
We wrapped it up around 5:30. It was an enjoyable and productive day of ASL.
