#1 – So, Jim had the honor of playing with (and DEFEATING) me in my first Face-to-Face game, War of the Rats. Thanks to him for going easy on me, and for schooling me up on the rules and some solid tactics. Looking forward to some more SK1 goodness with the rest of you. Oh, and I now have SK2, so once I've read those rules, I'll be down for firing some mortars and 88s!
#2 – Joined the club! !amazed
#3 – Also, I told a few people I'd post the link to the ASL podcast I've been listening to. It's called “The 2 Half-Squads,” and it can be listened to (or downloaded from) [link=hyperlink url] http://the2halfsquads.podbean.com/%5B/link%5D.
I love the show… it's two guys from somewhere in the midwest, and they basically just drink beer and talk about ASL for an hour. They have regular segments on rules and tactics, and they also do a “What's in the Box?” segment where they open up a module and tell you what's included. The show is actually really funny, too–there's a moment in episode 7, I think, where one of the guys admits that he actually throws away his module boxes, and the other guy is speechless… !dodge
Overall, very recommended. Especially if you need a gaming fix at work. !lol
August 20, 2008 at 9:58 pm #5329testuserMemberHello Stephan, and welcome!
I'm glad your first game was with Jim. He's a great guy and very generous. I'm also glad you showed up at a game day for your very first FTF! I hope you will come to the BBQ next month. There will be an ASLSK tournament there and lots of friendly, fun players to meet.
While listening to the podcast, did you hear them talk about me as “he”? That was so funny! I think their latest podcast they made a correction.
Once again welcome and I hope to play a game with you soon.

Yeah, I do remember hearing that, and I remember thinking to myself, “…I haven't heard of any guys named Candice before…!”
I guess a female ASL player seemed less likely than a guy named Candice… lol.
Looking forward to that game!
August 20, 2008 at 11:27 pm #5331Matt “Rolling Hot” CiceroKeymasterI frequently refer to Scott Thompson as a “she”…granted, a big, hairy in the wrong places, goofy sorta manly she…but still, a she. You should too.
August 20, 2008 at 11:57 pm #5328testuserMemberWhen I head them wondering if Candice was a girl's name I was like “WTF!?” Show me those manly Candice's somewhere. I guess I need to sign all my internet posts with a pink heart or something.
Stephan, are you coming to the BBQ?
August 21, 2008 at 2:19 am #5332Jim AikensKeymasterStephan,
Welcome to the Club. It was a pleasure to play you this past Saturday; and you did quite well for your first FtF game.
Trust me, we have plenty of SK players to keep you busy.
Regards,
Jim
