Ok, it’s the Saturday before the Burning Wreck Barbecue, *and* its Labor Day weekend, but the September L.A. Game Day *still* managed to draw 12 Club members.
Eric Visnowski’s Brits defeated Mike Soffa’s Germans in a very close playing of “The Five Pound Prizeâ€.
Stephan Tourville’s Poles battled Glenn Sellar’s Germans to mutual exhaustion (a draw) in “Into the Frayâ€.
Candice Juliano’s Brits defeated Mike Cirrincione’s Germans in the classic “Cold Crocodilesâ€.
My Germans beat Geoff Coward’s Americans in an extremely close playing of “WN 63†from Dispatches.
Dave Rosner’s Germans fell to Rob Stai’s Brits in that oldie but goodie “Hill of Deathâ€.
Hank W.’s Germans defeated Dan Plachta’s Americans in “Speed Over Cautionâ€.
Robert Hammond made a cameo appearance with copies of the new scenario pack “Into the Rubble 4â€. It was nice to see Robert looking well after a long illness.
And of course we adjourned for our usual mid-afternoon lunch break for take-out pizza. As always, it was an enjoyable day for all. On a personal note, I want to compliment Geoff on a very well-played and exciting game. It was one of those games where, going into the final half-turn, Geoff and I shook hands and agreed that regardless of the outcome we were both winners; our game was ASL at its best.
