Hello Everyone,
We had another great game day at Gameology in Claremont.
The next LA Area game day will be December 6th at Gameology.
A total of ten people attended, with 6 games getting played.
Eric Visnowski and Candice Juliano played RP6, an interesting looking DASL meeting engagement scenario featuring a die roll to see which side moves first, with Eric's Germans defeating Candice's British.
Rob Stai and Jim Aikens played SP 164, a newer offering from Schwerpunkt, with Rob's Russians defeating Jim's Polish forces.
Mike Cirrincione and Bill Yuen played S12, Over Open Sights, with Bill's Germans defeating Mike's Americans.
I think there was a critical hit with a 105 on the Infantry Target Type in this one – OUCH!Geoff Coward and Dave Nicholas played J51, Canicatti, with Dave's US forces defeating Geoff's Germans. Not even the rate-crazy 'Uber Bastard' 9-1 with an HMG could hold off Dave's Sherman tanks in this one.
Todd Schallberg and Dan Plachta played two games managed to get two games in:
S21, Clash At Borisovka, with Dan's Russians defeating Todd's Germans.
S7, Prelude to Festung Brest, with Dan's Germans defeating Todd's Americans.Group lunch was great fun while avoiding being thrown out of the restaurant.
See ya next time!

November 3, 2008 at 1:13 am #5506Jim AikensKeymasterIt was indeed another great Game Day.
The major league thunderstorm made the day even more exciting late in the afternoon. The store manager came in to warn us that the power was out down the street, and we should be prepared for the same. Several of us trekked to our cars for flashlights, but they proved unnecessary. For a while I wondered if we would have a replay of our “Lights Out†event at Biola a few years ago, when we lost power and had to clean up our games in the pitch-black.
Rob and I had a great game playing the Polish-Russian scenario “Tanks, but no Tanks†from the latest Schwerepunkt. When I got home, I read the recap written by the Schwerepunkt guys, only to discover that we played the scenario wrong. The Polish reinforcement should have come in on the opposite side! That would have made for a very different scenario. Funny, the way we played it worked out just fine. We both agreed that this was well worth another playing. Maybe it plays even better the way it was designed.
I was glad we got our usual table back at Marie Calendar’s; that booth they stuck us with last month just wasn’t agreeable to my “Squad Leader Body Typeâ€. Plus the booth didn’t have a drop-cloth.
I was able to get four more member photos (EV, Candice, Todd and Dave N.), and I’ve loaded them on already. I forgot that I still need Bill’s photo. I’ll catch you in Brea, dude.

You can get my photo at the next one Jim.
