Not sure if this goes under rules questions or tips … I had another CA change issue come up. Is the CA change DRM cumulative or do they start over with each new click?
The situation is an infantry runs up on a tank that has its CA pointed the wrong direction. He spins the CA to fire the CMG at the pesky infantry unit. In the DFPh, the tank now has to deal with the enemy that is up his tail pipe, spinning the TCA back to fire the MA.
The rule is D3.51 — Once a vehicle fires any turret-mounted weapon, any of its other turret-mounted weapons which fire within the current respective CA must pay the same CA Change penalty as the first weapon which fired. If, after firing, another turret-mounted weapon (or the MA which has retained a Multiple ROF) wishes to fire at another target outside the current TCA, the Case A TH DRM would be applicable based only on the move from the current TCA to the new TCA (C5.12) but only if the preceding shot(s) were taken at a Known enemy unit …
I think the tank changing the TCA back to fight off the tank pays for two clicks of the TCA in the DFPh, not all 4. What is your read of the rule?

Please take a look at the EX that follows D3.51. In the EX the TCA is changed 2 hexsides and the CMG fires with a +2 DRM, them the MA fires with the same +2 DRM for turning. When the MA keeps rate the +2 DRM for the first turn no longer applies. Using your logic the +2 for the first turn shouldn't apply to the MA shot.

This is also a tactical tip, as vehicles can do all sorts of cool (cheesy) things like changing CA.
