We had 7 members in attendance for the October edition of our San Fernando Valley Game Day at Emerald Knights.
Dave Rosner and Rob Stai paired up for “Order 831†out of the new Friendly Fire pack. Rob’s Germans defeated Dave’s Russians.
Mike Cirrincione’s Germans defeated Blair Bellamy’s Russians in the Rally Point scenario “Comrade Klimenkovâ€.
And my Germans defeated a Russian force commanded by Eric Visnowski and Dave Nicholas in “Capital Punishmentâ€, also from the new Friendly Fire pack. I had played this scenario as the Russians at ASLOK and won handily because my opponent didn’t grok what the Germans need to do with their initial set-up. I wanted to see if was indeed balanced if the Germans set up front against the river. It proved to be an exciting and balanced scenario indeed, and we had a lot of fun.
Three east front scenarios, three German wins. We adjourned to Larry’s for lunch, where we learned that the cute girl who always waits on us is named Veronica. Well, at least that’s the name she gave Nicholas when he asked.
Afterward we made our traditional trek to Bob’s Big Boy for our usual excellent dinner.
