What an outstanding weekend for SoCalASL! Our January Game Day at Emerald Knights in Burbank drew 12 members on Saturday. And because with SoCalASL the fun never stops, we drew 14 members and guests for our Club field trip at the Yanks and Planes of Fame museums in Chino on Sunday. I’ll recap the field trip in a separate post.
Dave Nicholas’ French defeated Mike Cirrincione’s Germans in “Too Little My Friendâ€.
Eric Visnowski and Phil Seymour paired up for “Panzer Spiritâ€. EV’s Germans quickly defeated Phil’s Russians. And because the scenario was over pretty quickly, they switched sides and played it again. This time Phil won as the Germans. Not sure what the Roar says on this one, but it sounds like it might be a little pro-German.
Dan’s Germans came up a little short against Rob Stai’s British in “A Well Engineered Ambushâ€.
Sean Geraghty made the three hour trek to join us. Because he was a little rusty, he paired up with Blair Bellamy, and later newcomer Sal Palaez in the Starter Kit Scenario “N463â€. At the end of the day Sean’s Germans defeated Sal and Blair’s Free French.
And Dave Rosner took on me and Bill Yuen in “The Generalissimo’s Ownâ€. Bill came across this scenario, and it had been on my play list for a long time. I mean come on, we’re talking a Japanese-Chinese armor battle set in 1938. In the end, Dave’s Japanese fell to mine and Bill’s Chinese.
As always, we did our usual lunch at Larry’s and wrapped up the day with a trip to Bob’s Big Boy for dinner.
