We had six members, plus cameo appearances from Matt Cicero, Eric Visnowski and Dave Rosner, in attendance for our monthly Game Day at Emerald Knights in Burbank.
Dave Nicholas and Mike Soffa paired up for the AP8 scenario “Happy Valleyâ€, with Dave’s Germans defeating Mike’s Americans.
Rob Stai’s Germans defeated Sal Pelaez’s Brits in “Point of the Swordâ€.
And Mike Cirricione and I squared off in “Land Sharky†from the latest Dispatches. I lost this one as the Brits to Blair, and wanted try it again, this time as the Germans. We had a great game, as we always do. In the end, my Germans just barely squeaked out a victory. Because we were the first to finish, we chose to set up another quick one: “Split the D†from Dezign Pack. It’s a quick-playing, all infantry battle between a fast-moving company of Russian SMG squads attacking a company of first line Hungarians. My Russians demonstrated the power of assault fire, and handed a defeat to Mike’s Hungarians.
Our big distraction for the day was Matt Cicero’s arrival with our long-awaited custom, Pacific theme ASL dice. I must say, these things are sweet. You guys are gonna love ‘em. BTW; we’re doing these as a limited edition: we have 100 Pacific-theme dice packs (each pack is individually numbered.) When they’re gone, they’re gone. We’re not going to reissue these dice.
As usual we made our trek to Larry’s for a chili dog lunch (joined by EV and Dave Rosner.) After we wrapped up for the day we headed over to Bob’s for our traditional late dinner. It was another great day of ASL!
