We had ten members in attendance, plus cameo appearances from Matt Morocco, our newest member Brian Blad, and Brian’s wife Tori, for our June 23rd Game Day at Emerald Knights.

Phil Seymour’s Chinese fell to Mike Cirrincione’s Japanese in “The Generalissimo’s Own”.

Geoff Coward’s Russians defeated Mike Soffa’s Germans in “Borodino Train Station.”

Dave Rosner and Rob Stai paired up for the early war classic scenario “Will to Fight Erradicated.”, with Rob’s Poles defeating Dave’s Germans.

Dan Plachta’s Germans and Dave Nicholas’ Russians squared off for the Kursk scenario “Dress Rehearsal” After an all day slugfest that involved apparently outrageous dice rolls by both sides, they decided to call a draw due to time limitations.

And Eric Visnowski and I dug through Eric’s hefty book ‘o Deluxe scenarios and came up with “Slam Dance” from the long extinct Rout Report. Wow, what fun we had! The scenario is set in Oosterbeek, with my British Para’s and Eric’s mixed force of Germans dashing into the town and wrestling buildings from each other. In the end, my paras came out on top, but it was close, and we didn’t know who won until we totaled the victory points at the end. We had a great time, and we both agreed we’d happily try this scenario again.

We made our usual trek to Larry’s for lunch, served as always by the ever charming Veronica, and her sister Ann. We wrapped up kind of late at EK, but a pretty sizable group of us made our way to Bob’s Big Boy for our traditional late dinner. It was another great day of ASL!
