We had 6 members at our May Game Day at Gameology yesterday.
Dave Nicholas and Blair Bellamy paired up for the Journal scenario “Messenger Boysâ€, with Blair’s Brits defeating Dave’s Germans.
And because I’m on a Berlin kick I brought my Berlin: Fall of the 3rd Reich module, and talked Dan Plachta, Matt Cicero and Chip Wertenberger into a four player version of “Send in the Fallshirmjagersâ€, with me and Dan taking the defending Russians against Chip and Matt as the Germans. It’s a huge scenario that required a pretty fair amount of set-up time, and we were pretty sure we weren’t going to finish. But we all had a hell of a time anyway, getting through turn 4. We called it a draw at 9:30 PM. I’d like to try this one again; it was pretty cool. And the map board has a lot of very interesting terrain, which is one of the features that attracted me to the module in the first place. But like most of the scenarios in the module, it’s big and complicated. I think it could be finished in one day, but only if the defender has a set-up already complete.
We made our usual trip to The Hat for lunch, which was as good as it always is. We wrapped up and headed home a little before 10:00 PM.
