We had 7 members in attendance for our Special Game Day at Apex Fasteners. The star of the show was LFT’s Deluxe Pack #1, which arrived at Apex only a couple of days before.

Fen Yan and Geoff Coward’s Japanese fell to Phil Seymour’s Brits in the D.P. #1 scenario “Scraggy”.

Eric Visnowski and Matt Cicero spent the day dialing in changes to the MP scenario “Wolves Last Tooth”.

And Mike Soffa and I paired up for two D.P. #1 scenarios. The first one, “Spoiled Afternoon” features a German convoy trying to get past a Polish ambush. We kind of fucked up the convoy rules and muddled through the scenario. Poor Mike missed more T.K. DR’s than I’ve seen in quite some time. A lot, even for him. My Germans exited early for the win. Is this one balanced? That’s hard to say based on our playing. I’d like to try it again.

Our second scenario “Playing Uno” had Mike's Japanese attacking a hill position against my dug in Brits. This scenario was much closer, and quite fun, but the Japanese ran out of guys and we called it a British win. Mike did well considering it was his third scenario with the Japanese, and his first time attacking with them.

For lunch we traveled to Rudy’s Mexican Restaurant in Old Monrovia for some good old fashion family style Mexican food. The survivors met at BJ’s Restaurant for a very good late dinner.

All in all it was another great day. The new Deluxe boards look great and the scenarios look interesting. I’m glad I bought this pack and I’m looking forward to playing some more.
