We had 10 members in attendance for Game Day at Apex Fasteners in Irwindale:
Dave Nicholas' Americans defeated Dave Kocot's Germans in “GOYA”.
Sal Palaez' Germans fell to Mike Soffa's Americans in the Special Ops scenario “City on the Edge”.
Eric Visnowski and Matt Cicero worked on the playtest scenario “Fire From the Sky”.
And Glenn Sellar and and I took the Finns against Dan Plachta and Scott Thompson as the Russians in the H.P. scenario “The Last Attack”. The Russians won this handily, and Glenn and I felt the Finns needed some help. The ROAR seems to concur: 6 Russian wins to 2 Finnish wins on the ROAR. Of course we still had a good time, regardless.
We decided on the Mexican restaurant across the street for lunch, and that proved to be an excellent choice. Everyone was very pleased with their meal. The survivors retired to BJ's for a nice late-night dinner. All in all it was enjoyable and productive day of ASL.
