January 2nd Game Day at Gameology AAR

We had six members in attendance for the first Game Day of 2016:

Kyle Li's Germans defeated Blair Bellamy's Russians in the Rally Point scenario “The Trouble with Tigers”.

Eric Visnowski's Germans defeated Scott Thompson's Americans in “Crown of Thorn”.

And Dave Nicholas and I paired up for the Schwerepunkt scenario ” Easy Come, Easy Go”, with the dice giving Dave the Americans against my Germans. This is an interesting situation where the Americans get VP to exit and kill Germans, and the Germans get VP for killing Americans. Our game was a wild and crazy melee of tanks and infantry dashing here and there across the board and both sides trying to take advantage of localized superiority. In the end, my Germans were victorious. As much as I'd like to say I outplayed Nick, it was really a case where everything he tried seemed to go wrong for him, and everything I tried went right for me. We had a lot of fun, and I would probably try this one again.

We had our usual lunch at The Hat, and wrapped up early (for a change) at about 8:00 PM.
