We had four members at our SoCalASL Game Day at the Guild House in Bellflower. It was a slow day at the store, and for our Game Day, and at Sizzler's when we went to lunch, and at Chris and Pit's when we went to dinner. No idea why, it was just slow.
We decided on an impromptu playtest day. Dave Nicholas and Jim Svette paired up for “Dirty Serifimovich”, with Jim's Germans defeating Nick's Russians. We have decided to call this one done. We also decided on a name change for the scenario: it will now be called “Eau de Cologne”, which was the less-than-complimentary nickname for the German 22nd Pz Div. in the scenario.
That left me and Dan Plachta to try out “Long Day for the Long Horns”, a new scenario he's working on. It involves German Panzer Grenadiers attacking a hill and town in Salerno. Bloody fighting among the olive groves. We played through turn 3. Dan's definitely on the right track. I think this is going to be a nice addition to MPIV.
As I mentioned above, we walked to Sizzler for lunch and adjourned to Chris and Pit's for dinner. Both restaurants were quite slow, but our food was good. All in all it was a very enjoyable and productive day of ASL!
