We have five members in attendance for our Special 5th Saturday Game Day at Gameology:
Dave Nicholas' Brit's defeated Dan Plachta's Germans in “Hart Attack” from Journal 11.
And Blair Bellamy, John Lehman and I pulled out the three player version of “Aiding the Local Constabulary”, also from Journal 11. Blair had the Mutineers and for all but the last turn had to fight against my Italians and John's South Africans. This proved to be a surprising and exciting ending when John and I turned on each other on John's last movement phase of the game. He attacked one of my victory buildings, but my guys routed upstairs for what I thought would be the win. But I forgot that the South Africans also get VP's for capturing leaders, and John advanced into one of my hexes with a lone 6+1 leader and grabbed the win. Well played!
All three sides are pretty challenging to play, and we had a down-to-the-last CC finish. I don't think you ask for more! We all had great fun. This one is well worth the effort.
We made our usual trip to The Hat for lunch, and cleared out around 8:30.
The important news is that GAMEOLOGY IS MOVING! Right away, but not very far as it turns out. The new store location will be open next week: 9525 Central Avenue, Monclair, 91763. That's just on the opposite side of the street, and one block closer to the freeway. Look for the Stater Brothers plaza. Kevin says the new location will be better in every way, and I'm sure it will be.
I have updated the Club website with the new address.
