We had seven members in attendance for the February edition of our monthly Game Day at All Ways Gaming in Chatsworth:

Eric Visnowski's Germans defeated Ed Esparza's Americans in “Resignation Supermen”.

Dave Nicholas took the Germans against Sal Palaez and James Quinn as the Russians in the new W.O. scenario “The Cost of Compliance.” They fought to a draw.

And I took the Germans against Dan Plachta's Americans in “A Simple Solution”, another new W.O. scenario. This is an entirely infantry scenario that has two companies of Americans attacking a city against two rather crappy companies of Germans. I think this scenario is pretty challenging to both sides. The Germans have a lot of weapons, but mostly crappy troops. I took the 2 MMG's and 2 crews option to supplement my force.

The Americans are well-led, but are on the attack with 6 morale. The Germans have to do a steady fall-back defense, and the Americans have to keep their troops from getting broken and relying on superior firepower to get the job done. Our game came down to the last turn, but Dan's Americans came up short. I felt pretty good about handily defeating our newly crowned WCM champion… until we were picking up and realized that Dan misread the scenario card. He pulled 10 American squads, but he should have had 18! Fuuuuck! He nearly won playing with only *half* his infantry! So much for feeling good about my game. :) Oh well. Dan and I had fun. The choice of supplemental German forces gives this one a lot of replayability. We both said we'd try it again as either side.

We had our usual excellent lunch at San Carlo Deli, and almost everyone retired for a late dinner at The Habit. It was an awesome day for everyone!
