We had a solid 9 member turn-out for the December edition of our ASL Game Day in Chatsworth:
‘Vegas’ Visnowski took on Kevin Kiff in “Peiper’s Sledgehammerâ€. In an exciting, down to the last die roll game Eric’s Americans defeated Kevin’s Germans.
Mike Soffa’s Germans defeated ‘Nick’ Nicholas’ Americans in “Second Thoughtsâ€.
Late arrivals Dave Rosner and Blair Bellamy paired up for the heavy metal-fest “Comrade Klemenkovâ€, with Dave’s Russians defeating Blair’s Germans.
And because Mike and Nick’s game cleared fairly quickly they teamed up with late-arrival Bill Yuen for “Retrained & Rearmedâ€. In that game Nick’s Germans fell to Bill and Mike’s Slovakians.
Ed Esparza was in the mood for some Festung Budapest, so I paired up with him for “Stalingrad Reduxâ€, a scenario neither of us had previously played. In our first playing, which went pretty quickly, Ed’s Russians came up short against my Germans. Because the game only took about 4 hours, we decided to turn it around and try again. This time my Russians defeated Ed’s Germans in a extremely close game that came down to the last die roll.
We had our usual superb lunch at San Carlo Italian Deli next door, and most of the survivors made their way to Marie Calendar’s for a late dinner that included pie for everyone.
It was a great day with a great turnout.
