    New Year's Greetings ASL fans;

    We had 12 players at our LA Game Day at Gameology on Saturday, including two new guys, plus a cameo from Scott Thompson.

    My Belgians defeated Glenn Sellar's Germans in “Resistance at Chabritz”

    Dan Plachta's Germans beat Mike Sofa's Canadians in “'Taking Talleville”

    Eric Visnowski's Americans overcame Mike Cirrincione's Germans in “2nd Crack at Caumont”

    Geoff Coward's Russians held off Blair Bellamy's Germans in “Into Vienna Woods”

    Rob Stai's Russians defeated Stephan Tourville's Swedes in “Mexico and Morrocco”

    And because the finished quickly, they rematched for a second scenario:

    Stephan's Germans beat Rob's French in “Hamlet's Demise”.

    And we had two new guys show up: Nick Mueller and his friend Ben. Scott Thompson, who was just hanging around, volunteered to give the guys a quick Starter Kit tutorial, at which point they were off and running. Unfortunately, they had to cut out around 6:00 PM, but they took the game home to finish that evening. Welcome Nick and Ben, and thank you Scott for getting them up and running.

    We broke in the early afternoon for a trip to The Hat for lunch, which was a pleasure as always.

    It was another great day of ASL.

    Regards,

    Jim

    I would like to thank everyone for being very helpful and hospitable on Saturday. What a great group! I know we will both be back for sure!

    We picked up where we left off at home and Ben's Americans were able to retake Vierville from my Germans in “Retaking Vierville”. (Just like the history books!)

    Yes, I think we both had a great time down there and learned so much from everyone!

    Once I broke my units apart and started forming FGs I was able to take the upper hand in the battle and hold of the Germans. Nick did have some lucky rolls during the CC encounters though. Turned out to follow right along with the Aftermath breakdown of the actual battle…
