We had four members in attendance for our Game Day at the Guild House in Bellflower:
Chris Nielsen's Germans fell to Scott Thompson's Americans in the Action Pack scenario “Yes Sir!”
And I took on Dan Plachta in a really vintage scenario: “Climax at the Mures Defile” from the '98 March Madness Pack. Dan had the attacking Hungarians against my defending Romanians. The board configuration is pretty interesting; the Hungarians attack down the length of board 40 (which is bisected by a fordable river) with half of board 2 as a flanking option. The Hungarians get 10 tanks. The Romanians get 8 special Anti-tank crews, PF's and three 47L AT Guns. Our fight was wild and fun. I concentrated on killing the Hungarian armor, which they need to rack up their 60 exit VP's. I did pretty well at that, killing 2 or 3 and immobilizing 3 more. But it's a big scenario and we only got about half way through and called it a draw. We both had a lot of fun with this one. I would try it again.
We traveled to Fuddruckers for lunch and Chris and Pitts for a barbecue dinner. Both great places.
