    Holiday Greetings All;

    We had seven members for our July Gameology Game Day. I was quite pleased by that number, considering we didn’t even know for sure until Wednesday that Gameology was going to be open.

    Glenn Sellar and Drew Simon squared off in the FT scenario “Ne Pas Subir”, with Drew’s Germans grinding out a victory against Glenn’s French.

    Mike Cirrincione’s Fillipinos fell to Rob Stai’s Japanese in the AP6 scenario “Taking Heads”.

    And my Marine and Fillipino force squeaked out a victory against Eric Visnowski and Matt Cicero’s elite Japanese in the Schwerepunkt scenario “One More Day of Freedom”. None of us had played the scenario before though it’s been around for a while. It proved to be an excellent choice. One of the highpoints came when one of Matt’s Japanese squads snatched up an abandoned American DC, placed it into an adjacent building and rubbled the hex, killing a Marine squad and MMG on ground level, and a Fillipino squad with an LMG upstairs. Like most PTO scenarios, the carnage was incredible. Between the two sides the at-start forces number 32 squads; after 6 turns that number had been reduced to 6.5. We counted thirteen boxcars rolled (3 in the first turn) over the course of the game, and both sides lost their best leaders on the first turn. Great fun and a good scenario choice. Considering the number of squads it actually plays pretty quickly; about 4 hours plus set-up.

    We adjourned around 1:30 for our usual trip to “The Hat” for lunch (great as always). We met and chatted with the partners who will be taking over Gameology; they seem like pretty good guys, and they had some interesting ideas about how to increase store sales. I hope it works out for them.
