I saw a post over on GameSquad's forums, which quoted from a Brian Youse post at ConsimWorld, to the effect that:
The Starter-Kit Map Bundle is effectively dead as MMP does not have the warehouse space for 6 pallets of product i.e. the map bundle.
They are not going to get a bigger warehut so this seems the map bundle is as good as dead. Bad news for many, and so I think those in need of maps which are unavailable might wish to gather together and form a club for copying someone's map and laminating them as Jim Aikens has done.

December 2, 2008 at 11:39 pm #5517AnonymousGuestDang! I was looking forward to buying a bunch of the boards (individually as I have a lot of the SK-style boards already).

December 4, 2008 at 12:35 am #5516AnonymousGuestYeah I already printed the VASL maps for all the boards I don't have; turned out OK (I was showing them off at the last LA Game Day).
Was a bit of a hassle to get the process all figured out but once I did I got them printed pretty quickly in the exact right size and so forth.
Used legal size cardstock; two sheets per map.
Probably about $40 or $50 for the cardstock and ink cartridges. Maybe less.

All new boards from AP4 are sk style
how are they suposed to sync up with mounted boardsThey should have just kept all the boards mounted
and maybe use sk style boards for just starter kit.Are they trying to say we have to order all new modules to get the sk boards!!!!
December 10, 2008 at 1:30 am #5520rdfMemberThis was a rather extensively covered topic a few years ago on the Gamesquad forums. Essentially it was a matter of cost. I seem to recall MMP claiming in a post somewhere that mounted boards would have been an extra $5 or so per board, per module. My suggestion for matching the two types would be to place another mounted board beneath the SK board…or go the rout several others have taken of copying the vasl maps and laminating them.
At a minimum, I would recommend laminating the SK style maps. -
