We had a solid 6 members present for the March edition of our ASL Game Day at Gameology:
Ryan Voznick and Eric Visnowski paired up for “Men Against Tanks†with Eric’s Germans defeating Ryan’s Americans.
Blair Bellamy and Dave Nicholas squared off in “Hungarian Hopscotchâ€, with Dave’s Russians defeating Blair’s Germans.
And Dan Plachta and I paired up for something out of Festung Budapest. We were paging through scenarios and “Furor Hungaricus” caught our eye. It wasn't until we had the board and counters out that we realized it was a Night scenario. But for a couple of grognards that wasn't a problem. Dan took the attacking German-Hungarian force and I set up the Russians. The VC's are complicated, but much helped if you have the map under plexiglass and can mark perimenters and VC buildings. We wrapped it up as a last turn Russian win just minutes before the store closed. We liked this scenario a lot. I would definately play it again.
We did our usual lunch at The Hat, and we even convinced Eric it was ok to eat outside. I'm pleased to report that no one was injured during our meal. It was another great day of ASL!
