We had a solid eight members in attendance for the May edition of our SoCalASL Game Day at Emerald Knights:
Blair Bellamy and Sal Pelaez paired up for a two linked scenarios. In the first round, they played the SK scenario “Not So Disposedâ€, with Blair’s Americans defeating Sal’s Italians. For the second round, they played “Converging Assaultsâ€, with Sal’s Italians falling once again to Blair’s Americans.
Dave Deresinski’s Germans defeated Mike Soffa’s Brits in “Assault on the Hotel Continentalâ€.
In a game that lasted until 11:00 PM, ‘Vegas’ Visnowski’s Americans fell to Dan Plachta’s Japanese in “Invisible Foesâ€.
And ‘Nick’ Nicholas and I paired up for the Night scenario “For Pride’s Sake†from the new Winter Offensive pack. Unfortunately, Nick was a little more rusty at Night rules than I was (though we both spent a lot of time looking up rules.) That proved to be my advantage, and my Japanese defeated Nick’s Americans. Because we got over pretty quickly, we set up “Milling About†from the new Action Pack. In this scenario Nick’s Japanese fell to my Gurkas. We liked both of these scenarios, and I would definitely lick to play each of them again.
We had our usual chili dog lunch served by lovely Veronica, and the survivors adjourned to Bob’s Big Boy for our traditional late dinner. It was another outstanding day of ASL.
