Greetings ASL fans;
We had 9 members at the May Game Day at Gameology on Saturday.
Dan Plachta and Geoff Coward squared off in the Bounding Fire scenario “Bypassed Lehrâ€, with Geoff Germans defeating Dan’s Americans.
Mike Soffa and Glen Sellar had a down-to-wire game of “The Gauntlet, with Mike’s Norwegian’s defeating Glen’s Germans.
Rob Stai and Mike Cirrincione paired up for the glider scenario “On Silent Wingsâ€, with Rob’s British defeating Mike’s Germans.
And because their game was over fairly quickly, the tackled “Bloody Bois Jacques†from the new Journal, with Mike German’s evening the score over Rob’s Americans.
Blair Bellamey and I took on Eric Visnowski in the new AP6 scenario “Shouting Into the Stormâ€. I’d like to say that our Germans were victorious over Eric’s Russians because of our masterful play, but it was really all about my masterful dice rolling. (I rolled 4 critical hits over a two-turn span, among other things.) Eric took his dicing with the pluck and good humor of the veteran player he is, and he hung in there long after a lesser player would have thrown his dice across the room. But don’t get me wrong, we had a lot of fun and it was an enjoyable scenario. We all agreed it would be well worth playing again.
And we had a cameo appearance from our intrepid Vice President Matt Cicero, who brought a trunk-load of goodies for us, and did a brisk business in the parking lot.
As usual, we had a great lunch at The Hat.
Regards,
Jim
