Howdy All,
We had a great turnout yesterday – 14 people with 8 scenarios played.
Here's the rundown:
Dan Plachta and Mike Soffa played AP52, Into Vienna Woods, with Dan's Russians defeating Mike's Germans.
Following that Dan and Mike played U31, The Front in Flames, with Mike's Germans defeating Dan's Russians.Stephan Tourville and Drew Simon played T1, Gavin Take, with Stephan's Germans defeating Drew's Americans.
Eric Visnowski and Scott Thompson continued Eric's DASL mania, playing TT12, Signal Hill, with Scott's Aussies defeating Eric's Japanese.
Dave Nicholas and Blair Bellamy played S27, Stand for New Zealand, with Dave's Germans defeating Blair's UK forces.
Rob Stai and Mike Cirrincione played AP14, Ace in the Hole, with Rob's US defeating Mikes forces.
Geoff Coward and Jim Aikens played AP49, Retrained and Rearmed, with Jim's Germans defeating Geoff's mixed Slovak/Partisans.
And Mike Yuen and Candice Juliano attempted 135, Acts of Defiance, with Mike playing Germans and Candice the Russians. They didn't have time to finish and declared the scenario a draw.
For lunch we picked up pizzas from the nearbly shop and ate in, which worked out pretty well and sure saved everyone a few bucks.
The next LA Game Day is Saturday June 6th at Gameology in Montclair – hope to see you there!

The new Gameology location is proving to be a real winner. It's a little easier to get to, among other things. Dave, the store owner, indicated that he has been seen an increase in business. That's good news for us as well, since it means he'll be around for a while.
One concern we had when we moved to the new location was that we were loosing direct access to Marie Calendars, our favorite lunch spot. Last month we tried the Mexican place across the street. Although the food was pretty good, the service was very slow. This month we ordered pizzas from Papa John's, which is in the same parking lot as Gameology. The pizza store manager gave us a great deal on a bunch of one-toping pizzas, which Dave allowed us to eat in the store. At $7 each we had more food than we could eat. We'll set it up a little different next time, but we definately have a solution to our lunch “dilemma”.
I also want to thank everyone who came. It was another great day for SoCalASL.
