We had an even dozen members in attendance for the November edition of our ASL Game Day at Emerald Knights in Burbank.

Sal Palaez’s Germans and John Lehman’s Brits battled to a draw in “First Cristot”.

Dave Deresenski and Chip Wertenberger paired up once again for the AP scenario “Disobry Defiant”. After battling all day they ran out of time and also decided to call it a draw.

Eric Visnowski’s Germans defeated Mike Soffa’s Americans in “Counterstroke at Carentan.”

Dave Nichols and Nadir Elfarra paired up for the LFT scenario “Shoppino Struggle”, with Dave’s SS handily defeating Nadir’s Russians. Both felt the scenario was unwinnable for the Russians.

And Dave Reinking, Dan Plachta and I set up one of the new J-10 scenarios “Bienen Burnout”. Dave’s bother Larry soon joined us, and the two of them took the Germans against me and Dan as the Canadians. Larry left at 4:30, and Dave Nicholas, fresh off his game with Nadir, sat in on the German side. It proved to be a long, slugfest kind of scenario, and quite adaptable for four players. Eventually Dan and I fought our way into the victory area and just barely secured a win. But the Germans had pulled back to back reds and never got their OBA down. Dan and I both felt it would have been pretty hard on the Canucks if the Germans had that OBA.

We enjoyed our usual chili-dog lunch at Larry's, and a few of us ventured over to Bob's Big Boy for our traditional late dinner. What a great way to spend a rainy Saturday!
