Well, our short-notice change of venue didn't hurt our attendance for our usual 4th Saturday Game Day. We had 11 members playing at Apex Fasteners in Irwindale on Saturday:

Eric Visnowski took a crack as the Germans, but came up short against Dan Plachta's Brits in “Head of the Mace”.

Dave Rosner's Russians fell to Sal Palaez' Germans in “Hedgehog of Piepsk”.

Kyle Li's Germans defeated Dave Nicholas' Americans in “Poteau Party”.

Matt Cicero's Germans pulled off a last-dice-roll win over his son Roman's Americans in “Ad Hoc at Chef Du Pont”.

And I took the Americans against Mike Soffa and Scott Thompson as the Germans in “I Don't Like Retreating.” This was my first time playing this scenario (yes, I'm sure) and I must say, I was pretty impressed. We had an interesting and exciting game that came down to the last turn. Unfortunately, though the Germans won the armor battle, they ran out of men and didn't have enough guys left to break into the village. We called it an American win. I think this scenario is very challenging for both sides, and very fun to play. I would happily play it again as either side.

We walked over to the excellent Mexican restaurant across from the office for an awesome lunch. The survivors trekked to Denny's (the only place still open) for a very late dinner.

I want to thank Matt Cicero for once again opening up Apex Fasteners for our use. His game room is awesome. It has no windows, and no clock. There's a fridge full of drinks and a bathroom nearby. It's kind of like a casino, but for ASL. The time just flies when we play there.
